Making cacao tea

Most Dominicans don't use recipes. We tend to add a little bit of this and a little bit of that. So now that I'm faced with the task of telling you how to make cacao tea, I am stumped. I am going to tell you how I did it. I take about two sticks of cacao (about 4 inches total) and add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Add bay leaf or cinnamon bark if you have it. Let simmer for about 10 mins or until the cacao has dissolved in the water. Be careful! Cacao boils over very easily so turn the heat down. Once its done, I add some powdered milk, cream or coffee creamer to taste. Add sugar to taste. I usually add a dash or two of cayenne pepper and all spice to my cup of cacao. As I said, its an experiment and you'll find your right mix.
